Lula Lake Land Trust is only available to explore on Open Gate Days, which require a reservation.  A donation fee reserves a parking spot and serves as entry fee for anyone in your car.  Be sure to pack all needed supplies as it is a 1/2 mile trek from the car to enter the preserve...also, when you head back it is all uphill.  You are able to hike and bike the area, but no swimming is allowed.
